8 Key Insights on the Future of Work

After months of anticipation, the 2021 virtual C2HR CON did not disappoint! A total of 583 industry human resources professionals and industry leaders logged in for four days of learning and networking. With 17 sessions and 54 speakers, there was no shortage of insight. We asked the hard-working conference committee to share a few of the gems that they took away from the event. Here is a small representation of the valuable insight shared by the speakers:

  • Leaders must be stewards of culture, foster connections and promote collaboration.

  • DEI must become ingrained in the DNA of a company—not a singular action. In today's world, leaders will be held accountable for ensuring that all employees feel a sense of belonging. We must look at everything through a lens of diversity.

  • Have the courage to try to new things. Fail fast. Take risks. A left turn isn't a wrong turn. As managers, we must create psychological safety so that employees feel comfortable experimenting. Embrace an entrepreneurship mindset.

  • Be agile! Fixed vs. fluid…fluid always wins.

  • Companies need to create a recruiting culture where every employee actively supports the recruiting.

  • Companies are moving towards a hyper-personalization of workplace wellness to give each employee an experience that "looks like me."

  • When it comes to networking, you need to invest in building relationships before you need them. Pay it forward—speak up on other's behalf and take opportunities to them. Create a challenge network of people who think differently than you.

  • Many companies are including sustainability as a key performance indicator with an emphasis on environmental, social and governmental (ESG) impact.
